Conserval Engineering Wins Prestigious SME Award in France

Toronto, December 14, 2011 — Conserval Engineering and SolarWall Europe have been named the recipient of a 2011 SME Canada-France award in a ceremony in Paris that was attended by the Honourable Ed Fast, the Canadian Minister of International Trade and Minster for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, and Pierre Lellouche, France’s Secretary of State for Foreign Trade.

Minister Fast and Secretary of State Lellouche presented the SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) awards to recognize two enterprises that have been successful in both countries. This year, the awards recognized Conserval Engineering for their excellent in the development and commercialization of the SolarWall® air heating technology and their successful foray into the French market vis-à-vis SolarWall Europe Sarl.

The SME Awards were presented as part of a trade visit between the two countries that focused on increased collaboration between the two countries in the areas of trade, innovation and science and technology. Speaking on the two companies that were presented with the award, Minister Fast said: «These two companies are examples of businesses whose innovation and technological advancements have made them front-runners in their fields and at the same time clearly show the benefit of closer Canada-France economic ties. Thanks to their success at home and abroad, they are creating jobs and prosperity for workers in both our countries.»

During his visit, Minister Fast saw Conserval Engineering’s world-class technology first-hand. The SolarWall technology heats building ventilation air and improves indoor air quality, while offering substantial energy savings to commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. The company expects significant growth in demand for the technology in Europe based on its cost-effectiveness and the current Renewable Heat Targets that are in place across the European Union. Their clients in France include Toyota Motor Manufacturing and the famous town of Fontainbleau, as well as other industrial sites, retail stores, colleges, gymnasiums, schools, multi-unit buildings, offices and warehouses.
