Access Storage has installed over 13,000 ft2 (1,300 m2) of SolarWall® systems on multiple storage buildings. Their Heart Lake facility in the City of Brampton features their largest SolarWall system and is projected to displace over 475 GJ of conventional energy each and every year.
Access Self-Storage
Background
Access Storage has been providing the Greater Toronto Area with high quality, flexible, modern and secure storage facilities since 1998. Access Storage is a full service moving and storage solutions company providing storage services for both private and commercial clients, using the highest-quality products and services at an affordable price. Like many companies, they were concerned with keeping their operating costs manageable to offer the best possible pricing for their customers. This objective was a driving force behind the installation of multiple SolarWall® air heating systems on two of their new storage facilities in Ontario. As a result of this initiative, their new John Street facility in Mississauga and their Heart Lake facility in Brampton have been able to reduce both their overhead heating costs and their ecological footprint.
Solution
Access Storage matched their SolarWall® systems with one of their corporate colors; Royale Blue. The technology was seamlessly integrated into the design of both buildings, resulting in a uniform appearance. For both locations there were large unobstructed areas available on the southeast and southwest exterior walls, which was ideal for SolarWall® integration. Storage facilities are excellent candidates for the SolarWall® technology, since it is a fresh air heater and maintaining a continuous supply of ventilation air is important within these facilities, as they typically house a wide range of belongings for their clients.
